Purple Hues -2 An Interview with Satyananda Sarangi

1- Tell us something about yourself. Describe yourself in three words.
         “Magician of Words”

2- Tell us about your Poem? How did you get the idea for it? What is it about?

This poem is pretty close to my heart. I wonder what led me to pen it down, must have been a fountain of endless emotions. It is about a son paying tribute to his father.

3- Tell us about your Relationship with your Parents? Share an incident from your Life where you felt deep gratitude towards your family.
To be frank, it is purely divine and I am sure that I would fall short of words explaining the relationship. Numerous events come to mind, starting from how I am taken care of when I fall ill to how I am encouraged when I am low. One incident won’t sum it up, would it?

4- Tell us about your journey as a Writer.
I resumed writing in the summer of 2014. Though I had some 3-4 poems during the school days, poetry wasn’t my cup of tea. Maybe there were other plans made for me. I went with poetry until mid-2015, but suddenly I got fascinated with writing short stories. The journey’s been quite a fulfilling post-September ’15 as my work has featured in more than 8 national and international anthologies.

5- What do you do when you are not writing?
Quizzing’s been my childhood love. I read quiz books more often when I am not holding the pen.

6- Who are your favorite authors/ writers? Well, there are so many. If I have to pick some, it would be Charles Dickens, Agatha Christie, and William Shakespeare. I am one of those readers who would settle with classics on any day. Among poets, the works of Robert Frost, H.W. Longfellow, and William Blake are close to my heart.

7- How do you see Yourself five years down the line? What will you be working on next? Five years down the line, the only thing I can say is that I would be writing perhaps with more passion and knowledge. I am thinking to write quite a number of short stories.

8- How was experience with Sanmati Publishers?

It was splendid for me. The way they get in touch with the contributors, it is heartwarming. On a personal level, all I would tell is that their cooperation stands out. Looking forward to working with them again and again.

9- What would be your message for our readers? The Purple Hues-2 promises to take you down to the memory lanes. Each poem would be different, but somewhere the readers would feel connected to each piece. The theme of the anthology makes it even more beautiful.

10- Would you like to share few lines from your Poetry at Purple Hues-2?
Yeah sure.
“Knowing the good and the sordid,
no price his morals hold,
how flattering the falsity seems,
truth triumphs he had always told.”

Purple Hues -3 An Interview with Tanya Singh

1- You are a proud contributing Author of Purple Hues-3, India's favorite Anthology. What is your story/ poem about? Is it related to your own life or someone you know? First of all, I want to express my gratitude that I got an opportunity to write for this anthology. Well, that was the most valuable e-mail to me from you Nikita! Writing poems is a soul song to me. I do not read many books to write. My writing is all about the people whom I have met and the impacts they left. Literally, there are stories from different people and my observations about them.My musings, quotes, poetry, songs reflect the beauty of raw, void, incomplete emotions. My poem, " The Man Like You " is about an imaginary man who feels the depth of the woman, who wants to fulfill her dreams which are already turned to ashes, who encourages that woman to make her own identity. And to him, a ·woman does not even belong to the body only. That woman gradually falls for him and als...
