Purple Hues -2 An Interview with Satwik Mishra

1- Tell us something about yourself. Describe yourself in three words.

I come from small district Purnea of Bihar. After finishing up my graduation in engineering, I pursued PGD in entrepreneurship and management from EDI and currently enrolled into PGDRD program of IGNOU. After getting enough bored with corporate life in just a year, I resigned to go with full-time entrepreneurship, with my venture. I am also an SBI Youth for India Fellow 2016 and currently working for rural development through an NGO in the villages of Odisha.

Entrepreneur, Engineer, Author

2- Tell us about your Poem? How did you get the idea for it? What is it about?

When I had to write something about my parents, words were enormous circulating around my mind. Certainly I imagined my mother and wrote a poem on her in just one-go. My poem is all about love, sacrifice and pain of my mother which she credited to the account of my life.

3- Tell us about your Relationship with your Parents. Share an incident from your Life where you felt deep gratitude towards your family.

My parents always kept me free from obsessive parenting and supported during every odds of my life. They always pushed me up in a direction to get knowledge and education in best possible ways and take the decision on my own. While I resigned from a decent job in MNC, entire world proved me wrong except my parents. All they do every time is – support and trust over me and my decisions.

4- Tell us about your journey as a Writer.

Writing is something which I inherited from my father. He writes in Hindi and Maithili and has been nominated for SahityaAkadami Award 2016. I penned down my first poem when I was in 3rd standard and have been writing since then. My first book Heartflash was published in Canada(2014), followed by another two Hindi poetry books TaheDil Se and AndherekaAadheera(both in 2015)in India. Apart from them, my poems and short stories have got space in more than twenty national and international anthologies.Currently I am working on finishing my first novel, hopefully, it will get published by the end of 2016.

5- What do you do when you are not writing?

If writing is oxygen then entrepreneurship is water in my life. When I don’t write I work for my venture MECHJUNCTION EDUSERVICES PVT LTD which is education event management firm, rolling out in engineering domain.

6- Who are your favorite authors/ writers?

Certainly I don’t have any specific names as my favorite writers, however, I like reading books of Guy Sorman, Paulo Coelho, HarivanshRaiBachchan and Steven Levitt

7- How do you see Yourself five years down the line? What will you be working on next?

As I am looking forward to becoming one of the most successful serial entrepreneurs in India, hence down the line I expect myself to be venturing out in different domains.

8- How was experience with Sanmati Publishers?

Sanmati Publisher has always been the source of motivation and encouragement for budding writers like me. When most of the publishers do everything just for making money out of the writers, Sanmati is doing the commendable job in keeping the spirit of literature alive. I was lucky to get my poems selected for both the versions of PURPLE HUES, getting published under Sanmati Publisher. Hats off to Pawan Jain and Nikita Goyal for being loyal and committed to the profession.

9- What would be your message to our readers?

‘Shenever complained understanding us when we couldn’t speak even a word,

So shouldn’t wenow just because we might have more education or exposure in this modern era’

10- Would you like to share few lines from your Poetry at Purple Hues-2

You survived the pain,

Which no one could.

To bring me in this world,

Out of your careful hood.

Purple Hues -3 An Interview with Tanya Singh

1- You are a proud contributing Author of Purple Hues-3, India's favorite Anthology. What is your story/ poem about? Is it related to your own life or someone you know? First of all, I want to express my gratitude that I got an opportunity to write for this anthology. Well, that was the most valuable e-mail to me from you Nikita! Writing poems is a soul song to me. I do not read many books to write. My writing is all about the people whom I have met and the impacts they left. Literally, there are stories from different people and my observations about them.My musings, quotes, poetry, songs reflect the beauty of raw, void, incomplete emotions. My poem, " The Man Like You " is about an imaginary man who feels the depth of the woman, who wants to fulfill her dreams which are already turned to ashes, who encourages that woman to make her own identity.
