Purple Hues -3 An Interview with Dr.Rashmi Jain

1- You are a proud contributing Author of Purple Hues-3, India's favorite Anthology. What is your story/ poem about? Is it related to your own life or someone you know?

. My poems are about hope, faith and the need of the divine presence in life.  They represent an optimistic approach towards life. In this hum-drum world where people are losing their patience, faith, and hope, these poems become the harbinger of positivity and inspiration.

2- As the theme for the series is Inspiration, tell us who or what inspired you to start writing.

Frankly speaking, I couldn’t find out till date that what really inspired me to write. It’s a sheer coincidence or destiny that I started writing although I like works of Wordsworth and Gulzar to a great extent.

3- Do you think that Artists have a social responsibility? If you had all the power, what is that one thing you would like to change about our world?

Yes, artists have a huge social responsibility on their shoulders and through their works, they unveil the reality of the society.  If I had all the power, the one thing that I would like to change the world is hypocrisy. If one can be true to oneself and others, half of the problems will be automatically solved.

4- What is your message for the young, budding writers?

My message for the young budding writers is to read a lot, write a lot and always listen to your heart.  It is not necessary to follow the certain trend; you just need to trust your instinct.

5- What do you think should be the next theme for Purple Hues?

The next theme for Purple Hues could be Nature or Environment.
